“No one said it would be easy.” No one said anything would ever be. In fact, almost everything is difficult. There’s a catch. There are consequences. Changing yourself, for example, necessarily results in the change of others, the change of the world around you.
It’s like dropping a stone into the pristinely-smooth surface of a lake and seeing the sky’s reflection tremor with the scattering ripples. Despite the independence and self-reliance that we seek in our personal lives, we’re all really connected. We share the same air, the same sunlight, the same ground. What we do, how we evolve, has some effect on someone, someplace…at some time. Though this thought may seem daunting at first, it’s also comforting in a way. We’re part of something huge, beyond our own recognition. We’re so far from being alone in this world…that’s something that so many of us forget.
Sure, it’s not going to be easy. But no one said you had to do it alone.
